I was born and raised in México City, the Big City. Where millions of people are getting their business done, students going to school, unbelievable traffic all over and all day, massive crowd everywhere. Even though I got used to the City, I wanted to be in a different and more peaceful place, where I could practice outdoors sports. I was really into flying ultralight, hang gliding, and water sports such as water skiing, windsurf and fishing. I came to Puerto Vallarta in 1980. I was really amaze of the beautiful scenary a small town can offer. Sandy beaches, warm and calm Pacific Ocean and big “Junglelish” mountains from the Sierra Madre Occidental. People in Puerto Vallarta are really nice and friendly, that help me a lot to decide whether to move or not… and I did. I had live in Paradise event since early 80´s. I opened my dental office downtown and years later move to Plaza Marina. Puerto Vallarta has change over the years, but it still keeps the essence of a safe and friendly destination.
In our dental office we are happy to receive people from all over the world. They come to visit Puerto Vallarta and some people decided to have this town as a second home. Winter and Spring brings Puerto Vallarta a really great weather. People are still friendly and have more things to offer. Lot´s of great restaurants, art galleries, a brand new boardwalk at downtown Puerto Vallarta, great Resorts and beautiful boutique hotels, places to shop, cultural events… there´s always something fun going on.
People are very aware of the news and what´s going on in Mexico with all this drug war. My thoughts about this is that crime is everywhere in the world. We can be hurt or mugged anywhere and that does’t stop me to travel, to keep living. I haven´t feel threaten by this, or unsafe. People are still coming, we go out at night and enjoy a safe and beautiful Puerto Vallarta. There´s no war here. Just a bunch of people ready to receive visitors with a friendly face.
